If you ever find yourself in The Netherlands, make sure you get yourself a dug. Vendors are everywhere and the dug variety is some of the most complex on earth. The dutch LOVE their dugs. You can see artwork that devotes itself to the dug. Dug carts are on nearly every corner. This dug was picked up a few blocks from the train station and heading towards the center of the city.
It was like no dug I have ever had back home in New England. Steamed, spicy array of flavor, definitely a mystery meat REAL dug, served on a slice of dutch cheese, and topped with mayo, mustard, and homemade ketchup on a non-toasted bun.
Now, I would usually get picky here about the toasted bun, but the unique dug and delicious toppings distracted me. It was a top notch dug, best enjoyed while roaming a foreign city. This is something the dutch are fully aware of and they make sure to put a stand on about every city block.
Amsterdam may be a destination for plenty of other vices, but make sure to choke down a dutch duggler after hitting up the coffee shops.
