The French served a unique version of the classic hut dug. The country is known for being very serious about food preparation, and it reflects in the meticulous creation of their style dug.
First, start with a fresh baguette. In France, not every piece of dough is considered bread. Basically, in order for it to be considered French bread, it has to have a distinguished crunchy outer crust and a soft inner core.
Then add a foot long chicken and pork mixture dug. This is a notable difference. Their dugs seemed like they come on an endless dug spool that they roll out and slice off a good foot-longer off of. This tasty tube is then placed on a melted slice of Gruyere, topped with onions, and briefly tossed in the over to broil.
The result is an amazing treat that really requires no additional toppings. I have to say, this is one of the best variations of any dug I have had anywhere else in the world. The French as famous for their food for a reason. You don't have to go to Paris to get a dug, but if you do, you will not be disappointed!
This dug was found at Le Chinon Cafe, Montemarte, Paris, France.
